5 Ways To Boost Immunity

Having a healthy immune system is imperative to achieving optimal health and improving quality of life.  When the immune system is healthy the body can fight off airborne pathogens.  It provides great defense against pathogenic organisms.  An immune system serves as a protective barrier.  It identifies and eliminates what it needs to support the body’s natural defenses.  The immune system is similar to that of a surveillance camera.  It is always watching.  Every part of the body is being watched by the immune system.  It consists of the lymphatic system, bone marrow, spleen, skin, bloodstream, thymus, lymph nodes, and mucosal tissue.  Immunity may not perform the same tasks as the liver or the heart, but it consumes enormous resources, which produces the large number of cells that it depends on for optimal function. White blood cells and red blood cells are important to cultivating a healthy immune system.

White blood cells are responsible for fighting off infection.  There are various types of white blood cells:  Monocytes, lymphocytes, basophils, eosinophils, and neutrophils.  Monocytes break down bacteria.  Lymphocytes create antibodies to fight against bacteria, viruses, and other harmful substances.  Basophils are small cells that send a signal when something is infecting the blood.  They secrete histamine, which is a marker of allergic disease in the body.  Eosinophils attack and kill parasites and cancer cells.  Neutrophils are the first line of defense when an infection comes to invade the body.  They kill and digest bacteria.  Red blood cells have a protein called hemoglobin.  Hemoglobin is responsible for carrying oxygen to the cells.  Red blood cells remove carbon dioxide from the body and transport it to the lungs for exhalation.  These cells are also known as erythrocytes.  They protect the tissues and regulation of cardiovascular homeostasis.

Bone marrow contains stem cells.  The bone marrow has a common myeloid progenitor and common lymphoid progenitor.  Common myeloid progenitor consists of the above mentioned neutrophils, basophils, eosinophils, monocytes, and lymphocytes.  Those are the first responders to infection threats.  Common lymphoid progenitor produce what are called NK, Natural Killer cells.  They provide immediate defenses. Skin cells protect against microbes and secrete antimicrobial proteins.  Immune cells can be found in the skin.  The skin contains large pores that absorb toxins.  It is a must to protect the skin from the inside out and use skincare products that protect the skin.  Thymus is a gland that harmonizes the entire immune system. Lymph nodes have three compartments: cortex, paracortex, and medulla.  In those three compartments are B + T cells, which interact with antigen cells.  Bloodstream contains plasma, blood cells, and platelets.  The bloodstream needs oxygen to flow properly.  Mucosal Tissue or mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue, line the gut.   Spleen is the largest secondary organ in the body.  It is responsible for filtering out the blood of foreign materials or damaged red blood cells.

In order to keep the immune system functioning properly there is a daily method that should be followed.  This will decrease your risk of infection and disease.  There are 5 Ways To Boost Immunity below:

1.  Fruits + Vegetables

Eating lots of fruits + vegetables will significantly increase an antibody response.  Fruits and vegetables contain all of the essential vitamins and nutrients that the body needs to thrive.  I cannot stress enough, to buy organic fruits and vegetables.  The body is organic and recognizes organic properties of fruits and vegetables.  Putting a genetically modified fruit or vegetable in the body will alter your DNA and genetic makeup.  They will also break down the mucosal lining.  Eat the rainbow every single day.  There are different colors of fruits and vegetables, which go with various organ jobs.  For instance, beets are excellent to juice or add to smoothies for heart health and blood flow.

2. Physical Activity

Regular exercise is necessary for immune enhancement.  Exercise also reduces the risk of infection.  It allows your heart to pump properly and removes toxic waste.  The more the toxic waste is removed, the more oxygen being sent to your cells.  This keeps the blood flowing properly and reduces risk of cardiovascular disease and flu.

Cinnamon

 3.  Essential Oils

Essential oils, such as clove, cinnamon, oregano, melaleuca, and black pepper are a must-have.  Clove has powerful antioxidant properties and supports the cardiovascular system.  It is powerful in that it can eliminate the most dangerous viruses.  Cinnamon keeps blood sugar levels in tact and supports healthy metabolic function.  It also supports a healthy immune system when you drink it in your water.  Add two drops each day to support your immune system.  It contains a compound called cinnamaldehyde , which can get rid of flu, diarrhea, and cancer.  Oregano acts as an antibiotic and can be taken for 10 days to boost immunity.  Melaleuca can get rid of cold sores, dry skin, itching, and infection.  Black pepper promotes cardiovascular health, proper immune function, and aids in sending oxygen tot the cells.  It is great in soups and you only need a micro amount of it.

4.  Positivity

Saying positive things to yourself does boost immunity.  There have been studies that have shown that psychological well-being has profound effects on the immune system.  For more on positivity check out the previous blog HERE

5. Supplementation

Some people can benefit from supplementation.  A supplement that I take to boost my immune system is Immune Biotect, which can be found HERE.  It has a proprietary blend of blueberry, elderberry, astragalus, and more.  The immune system needs vitamins B, C, D, E, folate, selenium, and zinc.

I hope you consider how critical this is to keep your immune system healthy all-year round.  Make sure you are checking your blood levels periodically and implementing all of the tips in the above mentioned.  When there is a breakdown in the mucosal lining, which can be protected by using those 5 tips, you can risk your chance of contracting disease.
